Llanrhystud
is a small village situated on A487 coast road 8 miles south of the University
town of Aberystwyth and some 7 miles north of the quaint Georgian Town
of Aberaeron with its harbour and famous honey ice cream parlour.
Monks
cave is some 3 miles north of the village accessible by footpath and here
seals are in abundance either basking on the rocks at low water or feeding
on the fish when the tide is in. It is not uncommon anywhere on this stretch
of coast to see dolphins and porpoise at play. Within a few hundred yards
of Talybont House is the village pub, a licensed restaurant, caravan park
clubhouse and a Championship 18 hole golf course with leisure centre and
licensed restaurant all of which welcome our visitors.
Talybont
House is a stone constructed farmhouse built in the early 1800s
situated in the centre of the village close to the river Wyre, and within
flat easy walking distance of the beaches, one sandy, ideal for swimming
and sunbathing, and the other with rocks where adults and children alike
can spend hours exploring the many ever changing rock pools or at high
water fish from the shore.
The
present owners of Talybont House, Jean & Derek Wright have
over the last 20 years retained the character of the house but at the
same time have carried out many improvements to provide the comforts required
today.
